Shadows of Forgotten Film

As of April 7th, we at Cinelogue belatedly celebrate our first year out of the womb. Painfully conceived in the minds of the brothers Mesaros, Cinelogue has striven to be a premiere truck stop on the superhighway of film analysis. We celebrate not with candy-filled paper-mache beasts and fermented drink, but with more film analysis. To mark our One-Year Anniversary a few of our writers were asked to submit lists of esoteric films – ones they feel very strongly should be seen by any lover of film.

The rules were simple enough: 10 films that have achieved fewer than 4,000 votes on the IMDb and are at least 10 years old (and considered essential by our humble writers). Then single out a few for more extensive analysis.

Shadows of Forgotten Film is a feature that we hope will continue long into the future, and hopefully we’ll get more ambitious with it in the years to come. For now, it serves as our first anniversary feature, and suitably so because it represents what Cinelogue has come to be (mostly) about: the discarded, neglected, orphaned delights of world cinema…
